Group trip planning, without the 40-message group chat.

Every group trip runs into the same problem. The decisions pile up, and they end up spread across a group chat, a shared spreadsheet, and whoever happens to remember what was agreed. Coastward puts all of it in one shared place, so the group can plan together instead of planning around each other.
Rust Belt Standards builds practical tools for real problems, and this one started with a familiar one: planning trips with family and friends. Coastward is built to do better than the group chat — simple enough for anyone in the group to use, without anyone having to be “the organized one.”
Coastward answers each of these in the app, where the whole group can see the answer.
From figuring out who's in, to deciding where to go, to the trip itself. Everyone in the group sees the same plan.

Propose options, everyone votes, and the group lands on an answer. Destinations and lodging work the same way, with ratings, so the favorite is obvious instead of argued over.

Log what's spent and split it fairly, per traveler or per household, so nobody is doing the math on a napkin after the trip.

Coastward is in private beta testing with a small group of real users. We're actively building based on what we learn from them before opening things up further.
